Students from area school districts may participate in a middle school, career day event via Zoom. Nex-Generation coordinates with I-CAN (Interactive Consortium Academic Network) in sponsoring this event.
ENTREPRENEURSHIP/BUSINESS PLAN WORKSHOPS-
Students learn about entrepreneurship and how to write a business plan in a hands-on workshop setting.
RESUME WRITING AND INTERVIEWING- Nex-Generation works with schools and other organizations to help prepare students for scholarships and employment opportunities by hosting free, resume writing and interviewing workshops in the classrooms.
CAREER FAIR & EXPO-
Schools from the area are invited to bring 9th-12th grade students to listen to multiple breakout session speakers from area businesses in three "camps" at this annual event: Camp Biz, Camp Med, and Camp Tech. Students also attend an Expo where they visit with businesses one-on-one. This career day event helps students consider the types of career options that are available in northwest and north central Kansas, and provides the local businesses a forum to showcase themselves to the students.
W8T 2 TXT PROGRAM-
Nex-Generation works with schools and other organizations to educate youth about the dangers and statistics of texting and driving. Students, including Driver's Ed classes, are educated inside the classroom, as well as outside on an obstacle course, where they drive golf carts and text while driving through cones, speed bumps, and signage. Local law enforcement often volunteer their educational expertise and tools during this program.
CITIZENSHIP & LEADERSHIP-
Nex-Generation provides a speaker for civic and school meetings and organizations, such as Kansas Association for Youth, Student Council Association, National FFA, National Honor Society, Girl Scouts, etc., on important youth-related topics that help students grow as leaders and citizens within their communities.
SUMMER INTERN GRADUATION DAY-
A series of informal 'graduation ceremonies', held throughout Northwest and North Central Kansas. These 'Graduation Day' events celebrate, congratulate and feature over Nex-Generation's Interns in an interactive program. Each Intern gives a short presentation about their summer Internship experience.
